Via today’s Meet the Press:

FMR. PRES. BILL CLINTON: There was a lot of fulminating because Hillary one time late at night when she was exhausted misstated and immediately apologized for it, what happened to her in Bosnia in 1995. Did y’all see all that? Oh, they blew it up.

And you would have thought, you know, that she’d robbed a bank the way they all carried on about this. And some of them, when they’re 60, they’ll forget something when they’re tired at 11:00 at night.

Ok, not only is President Clinton presenting a false version of events1 but the first thing that came to mind to me was the 3AM ad. I thought that a key rhetorical component of the Clinton campaign is that Hillary is ready, at any moment, to answer the phone and make the tough decisions. Now we are to understand that at 60 years of age she is prone to mistakes when she is tired? Somehow I can’t imagine that Senator Clinton and here campaign are especially pleased with this particular defense.

In regards to the true of the President’s claims, MTP illustrated that the Senator told this story at least four times, none of which were at night.
