By Steven L. Taylor

Via the AP: Author Madeleine L’Engle dies at 88

Author Madeleine L’Engle, whose novel “A Wrinkle in Time” has been enjoyed by generations of schoolchildren and adults since the 1960s, has died, her publicist said Friday. She was 88.

It has been a long time since I read A Wrinkle in Time and two of its follow-ups, but I remember it fondly as a a stand-out in the many books of my childhood.

May Ms. L’Engle rest in peace.

Who Hiatus on the Horizon
By Steven L. Taylor

“Who” fans face two-year wait for new season - Yahoo! News

“Doctor Who” fans will be forced to go for almost two years without a series fix from the Tardis-travelling Timelord, because actor David Tennant will take time off to do stagework, the BBC said Monday.

The fourth season of the latest iteration of the sci-fi action drama will air in the spring of 2008, but season five will be delayed until 2010, BBC director of fiction Jane Tranter said Monday.

The good news is that this means more Who and more Tennant as the Doctor, all of which is good news. But two year hiatuses stink (although it beats the last Who hiatus!).

From Bratz to Heroes
By Steven L. Taylor

Via Reuters: “Bratz” starlet joins “Heroes” team

“Bratz: The Movie” star Janel Parrish will appear in a few episodes of NBC’s hit sci-fi series “Heroes.” She will play May, the head cheerleader at the new school that Claire (Hayden Panettietre) attends.

That is, in my humble opinion, coming up in the world…

Line of the Day
By Steven L. Taylor

Via Dave’s Long Box:

While Flag bleeds and twitches on the floor, Batman turns and walks away, his victory somewhat diminished by the absence of one of his pointy ear things. Maybe there’s a lesson there for all of us: Batman will hospitalize you if you touch his pointy ear things.

To see what that all means, follow the link. However, I certain kind of sense of humor is needed to appreciate the whole experience.
