Not only is that an amazing feat, but it is always good to see a Texas boy do well on the international stage. Plus, in today's international sports climate, having an American win a French event is as close as we can get these days to the 1980 Miracle on Ice. While the Tour de France is run by French, it has been nearly 20 years (1985) since a Frenchman won it.
