  • A Bad Day for Rush

In case you hadn't heard, Rush Limbaugh is having a very bad day.

James of OTB comments on the ESPN aspect of this story and there has been quite a bit of chatter on this topic at NRO's The Corner. In particular, Jonah Goldberg makes some worthwhile points regarding Rush's free speech defense and provides an evaluation of Rush's McNabb commentary with which I basically concur.

In regards to the drug story, Rod Dreher makes a good point about hypocrisy.

Also in regards to the drug story, I certainly hope that it isn't true, and the fact that the main source of the story in the National Enquirer does give one pause. Still, Limbaugh's ear problems and the radical surgery that he underwent to correct it does make an addiction to painkillers a legitimate possibility.

It does... But there is one thing that is bothering me today. Supposedly the housekeeper has emails from him asking for drugs. Rush has said on his show many times that anyone who puts private things like that in email is a moron. (and they are) Limbaugh certainly knows better.

Maybe the larger story will be true. But that part about him putting it in email bothers me. I just don't believe that.

I don't know if that means the rest of the story is flawed but that whole email thing is just sticking in my craw.

Also the local police will neither confirm nor deny there is an investigation. I take that as a yes. They would deny it if there was no investigation.

AND IF THERE IS an investigation what are they finding? Is this legit or is a disgruntled employee trying to frame the guy?

I would normally say that last one is implausible with that whole email thing makes me wonder

OK that's my random thoughts on it anyway.
