Via ABC News:6 Arrested in Plot to Kill N.J. Soldiers

Six men were planning to attack the Fort Dix Army base and “kill as many soldiers as possible,” federal authorities said Tuesday.

The men, Yugoslav nationals, were arrested early Tuesday

That is the extent of the report.

As with previous dramatic-sounding arrests (or stories about explosives and the like), it is best to wait and see the degree to which this is the case of six nuts or something more significant. Quite frankly, barring some rather remarkable amount of weapons, planning and training I have a hard time thinking that six guys would get very far trying a frontal assault on a US Amry base.

    1. How can they be “Yugoslav” nationals? That country no longer exists.

There are, however, many Muslims in the remnants of Yugoslavia. I remember stories a couple of years ago that radical Islamist groups were eager to recruit these people because their white European appearance allows them to blend in better than Arabs can.

As for assaulting an army base, it might be easier than you think. Other than gate guards, soldiers don’t walk around post carrying loaded weapons 24/7. It would take a few minutes for any kind of quick reaction force to respond. A suicide mission could do a lot of damage before being stopped.
