  1. I have some of the original Spanish books. I think they will translate easily as they deal with broad concepts and not historically bounded issues. The story is basically how a mature child is mystified by immature adults.

Plus, did you know that Trudeau has not actually drawn his cartoon in over 25 years? Pretty amazing when you think that many of his cartoons are just recycled drawings of the White House. How crappy and lazy is that?!

  2. I have many of the Mafalda books in their original Castellano (Spanish for those of you in Rio Linda). They will translate easily as they deal with timeless themes and the general undercurrent is a mature child failing to grasp the complexity of immature adults.

  3. Hey! Why aren’t my comments showing up?

    Have I been blacklisted?!!

  4. Mafalda will translate well. I have many of the original Castellano (Spanish for those in Rio Linda) books. Mafalda deals with the timeless subject of a mature child failing to grasp the world of immature adults - a basic cartoon formula.

  5. I had three posts rejected and I didn’t even swear. What’s the deal?

All I wanted to do was point out that Quino’s cartoons will translate well because they deal with timeless subjects. I have several of the books in Castellano (Spanish for those in Rio Linda).

  6. And I also wanted to note that Gary Trudeau hasn’t even drawn his cartoon by himself in nearly 25 years. Amazing when you consider that often he just has recycled images of the White House. Talk about being lazy!

  7. For some reason those particular ones got put on the moderated list. Maybe the word “adults” scared the program or somesuch.

  8. They went into the list for approval for some reason. They have now been posted.
