It is a bad thing only in hte hearts and minds fo the dem/leftists. After all, how will they be able to push their agenda without activist judges?

You know, I’m kind of looking forward to this in the same way I look forward to a big fireworks show.

Because … it’s what the radicals on both ends want.
One of my favorite current themes is that politics today is being driven by radical money. People that are roughly satisfied with the way things are going don’t give to politicians. People who think the system needs major changes do. Therefore politicians are more than ever crafting their actions to appeal to the loons that are several standard deviations away from the center of the political spectrum. They give money. The rest of us don’t.
This is forcing politicians to appeal to the loonies to get the cash. This issue is a great one since most people yawn at the thought of confirmation hearings. However both ends of the political spectrum is riveted by the drama. So throw in an accusation of racism (both sides have done this), cop a comparison to Hitler (both sides), appeal to a nobler time in American History (ditto) and the commercials and fundraising letters practically write themselves.
Unfortunately the entire situation has ratcheted up until neither side can easily back away. But who cares, fundraising appeals from an aggrieved party are especially effective.
