Dubya X: The End
By Dr. Steven Taylor @ 10:15 pm

It started slow, and was rather laundry-list-ish for a while, but it hit a stride and didn’t look back. It certainly ended exceptionally well.

An excellent speech (and I did have my doubts at first)…

    2. I have to agree in some regards. I thought the first half was lousy. Kind of a promise the world thing. Very poor…. The demonstrators seemed to give him a touch of troulbe, but not bad….Then, he picked up talking about security which of course fits the whole convention…. And his bit of self-deprecating humor will endear him to many. Americans love leaders who can make fun of himself. Reagan was good at that… Clinton was good at that… Coincidence?

    3. whoops… entered too soon. Meant to say coincidence that they got reelected?

    4. Bush’s Speech
All in all: not bad. I have certainly seen him give better, more passionate speeches, and he seemed rather subdued here, especially the first part of the speech. The second half was clearly more visionary, and since it dealt with…

    8. Not his best speech…the first part was too slow, but overall, it was well done (especially at the end) and projected the image he wanted.

    9. George Bush’s Acceptance Speech: “You Know Where I Stand”
President George Bush’s acceptance speech tonight likely gave the GOP precisely what it wants as the already raging campaign’s marks its official start after Labor Day: a speech that covered all bases and from the GOP’s standpoint can be considered

    10. Bush: Expanding Liberty
As George Bush wound down his speech last night, I had two thoughts. The first was that in him, the promise of his father had finally been realized. The “vision thing” that George Bush Senior, a good and decent man

I had another engagement last night and missed the speech, which I TiVo’d and will watch this evening. The sound clips I’ve heard so far sound good, although a bit State of the Union-ish.
