  1. Federalism is indeed quite sensual, and can anyone seriously argue that what Madison really meant to write was:

    “Among the numerous advantages promised by a well constructed [i.e. sensual-ed.] union …[is] its tendency to break and control the violence fascism.”

    Surely federalism is not as effective a defense against fascism as sea sponges, however. But I don’t think Madison ever really was aware of sea sponges.

  3. My English Prof said that while he was in school he turned in a paper on french literature that he ran auto spell check on, while on the phone. His teacher found amusing, but not worthy of a good grade all the times he referred to something as a jackass instead of it’s proper french title.
