  1. Wow, that tops my favorite, handed down by an officer I know:

The PD where I grew up was conducting a drug sting, and was showing the District Attorney where they did it and what they did in an unmarked squad car. The DA was wearing a ball cap that had the words “District Attorney” on them.

One of their customers walked up to the car, which caused several problems - inside, anybody should be able to figure out that the copious amount of radio equipment were probably not normal, as was the fact that there was a guy with a hat that said “District Attorney” on it. They were afraid that the whole opperation was blown.

The guy walks up, and asks for some drugs. He then pauses, and asks “Who’s your friend?” Unable to think of anything better on the spot, the officers blurt out, “Oh, that’s our friend . . . DA.” The guy introduces himself to “DA”, and then buys drugs.

On the court date, the guy looks at the District Attorney, and mentions that he looks kinda familiar. “Yeah - I’m the DA.” he said. “Ohhh,” was about all the guy could muster.

Yeah. None too bright. So does the DA call himself to the stand in such a circumstance? Does he prosecute the guy? Who knows . . .
