Rioters set fire to hundreds of vehicles in an eighth night of unrest in the impoverished suburbs of northeastern Paris as exasperated local officials criticized the response of national leaders.Rioting erupted again late on Thursday despite hopes that festivities ending the fasting month of Ramadan would calm rioters, many of them Muslims of North African origin protesting against race bias they say keeps them in a second-class status.
Police reported fewer clashes than previous nights when police and fire crews were fired upon by some rioters.
After a couple of nights, you have to wonder, do these folks sit around the breakfast table and say, “So, you want to burn some more cars tonight?”
Spontaneous emotional response to an event I can at least understand–ditto for protracted violence linked to specific demands.
This, however, is more difficult to fathom.
Although as I have said in previous posts on this ongoing subject, it does appear to be, at least in part, the fruit of lack of integration of immigrants into French society.

I’m French, not muslim not rioter and i live in Paris from nearly 20 years. I’m 19 years old.
You want to know why the french governement did send yet the army ?
I got the answer: they’re divided.
They’re not able to do what should be done.
I heard that cnn say those rioters are young living in poverty without work and so on.
There something else i know well they haven’t said,
most of the young people that burns car are under the influence of radicals or drug dealers, i know this problem well every night there’s between 10-20 drug dealers in front of my building’s door.
The day before’s night they stole a minivan and destroyed about 30 cars.
As a French i would appriciate a cleaning.
I mean they should have send the army from long now on.
