In a Reuters story from this morning (Key CIA leak detail disputed as announcement nears) we learn that Libby may have given Miller inaccurate information about what part of the CIA Plame worked in.
What struck me most about the entire story was this line:
It is unclear how the discrepancy might affect the investigation.
That should be the slogan for this entire affair, as until Fitzgerald announces his intentions, we really don’t know what all of this means. Many opponents of the administration have had Libby and Rove already arrested and jailed in their own minds and many supporters of the administration think the whole thing is much ado about nothing.
Certainly the potential that the Vice President could be a focus of the investigation means that all of this could very much be something.
