Well, I didn’t recognize the name, but I have seen her on 7th Heaven.
I guess I’ll show my age, too. When I saw the name, the first thing that came to mind was Jennifer Beals of “Flashdance”.

Another thing, I’ve never understood those “sexiest person in the world” things. Why do they have to pick a new one each year. If it was Angelina Jolie (I can’t stand her, btw) last year, and she’s still alive and persumably just as sexy as she was last year, why do they need a new one this year? Oh, well, just a personal rant I guess.

I thought of the Jennifer Beals thing as well, which is really what prompted the age thing.
And in regards to your second post–that’s easy–it sells more magazines

Heard of her, and know who she is through watching 7th Heaven. The rise and fall of that show is a post all to itself — perhaps even a People article. She was also in the re-make of Texas Chainsaw Massacre (I haven’t seen it).
In any case, I never thought she was all that sexy, hot, or whatever. Cute, at best.
