On Wednesday morning I heard about a conspiracy theory that Katrina was man-made. Stephen Bainbridge e-mailed this afternoon to note the story as well as did a former student. Steve has links to news stories about the conspiracy here.
A PoliBlog reader and former student sent me the web site of the fellow propagating the theory: Weather Wars.
If you like a good conspiracy theory, check it out.
As for me, I always apply the Lewinsky Rule to all conspiracy theories, which goes like this: If Clinton couldn’t keep the Lewinsky thing secret, when ostensibly only two people knew about it-Clinton and Lewinsky–then there ain’t no way any major conspiracy can be true (e.g., aliens at Area 51, LBJ had JFK shot, or KGB weather machines).
Ah well: Beware the Contrails!!

Proverb of the Day
Steven Taylor (a.ka. The Poliblogger) brought to my attention what might be called the Lewinsky corrolary to (or should it be the Lewinsky proof of?) Ben Franklin’s famous proverb: Three may keep a secret, if two of them are dead
