Laurel from Slidell, LA started a blog to describe her family’s exodus and, I think, for some catharsis.

Certainly this shows the power of blogs and the internet to share the stories of real people in a way that was never before possible.

I can’t imagine the wait to find out if one’s home was destroyed. Indeed, the overall scope of this tragedy is mind-numbing. Just the New Orleans metora area alone represents hundreds of thousands of persons without homes or jobs.

There is going to be a Blogospheric effort tomorrow, as suggested by Hugh Hewitt to start rasing money for the victims of Katrina–I will have more information on that later today.

Thanks to Bill, The Pundit Guy for the e-mail tip.

One Response to “One Family’s Story”

  1. Unlocked Wordhoard Says:

    Hurricane Katrina Refugee

With all of the reporters vying to top one another with apocalyptic descriptions of the destruction of Katrina, I found the Hurricane Katrina Refugee blog all the more powerful in its simplicity.
