GOP senator compares Democrats to Hitler
“What the Democrats are doing is the equivalent of Adolf Hitler in 1942 saying, ‘I’m in Paris. How dare you invade me. How dare you bomb my city? It’s mine.’ This is no more the rule of the senate than it was the rule of the senate before not to filibuster.”

Man bites dog, Hitler edition
You can tell things have gotten bad in Washington when even Democrats are being compared with Adolph Hitler. I think Ed Cone put it best: Yes, it’s bad, it’s deplorable, a United States Senator should not say such things. But…

I guess Hitler is a person who can never be mentioned in an analogy. We are all so sensitive about it. The way I understand Frist’s comment it is not objectionable. Just change the name “Hitler” to “aggressor” and “Paris” to “a conquered city” and suddenly it’s not so bad and you can see Frist’s point.

The most ironic part is that Santorum recently went after Sen. Byrd for a similar thing a few days ago.
And after Ken Mehlman said “Senator Byrd’s invocation of Hitler’s Germany … is reprehensible and beyond the pale.”
Should we wait for Mehlamn’s statement on Santorum?
