Via Reuters:  Colombia’s Uribe seeks to ease Venezuela tensions over the current border tensions:

"The fellow republic of Venezuela will never hear any aggression from the people or the government of Colombia," Uribe said at an event in the border town of Cucuta. "We will never restrict our frontier to our Venezuelan brothers."

Meanwhile, the Venezuelans have captured a wanted paramilitary leader.  Via the AP:   Venezuela captures wanted Colombian fugitive

Venezuelan authorities have captured a former Colombian official wanted for collaborating with outlawed right-wing paramilitary fighters.

Magally Moreno, 39, is wanted by Colombian authorities on charges of aggravated homicide and Interpol had called for her arrest, Justice Minister Tareck El Aissami said Saturday.
