The NYT reports Rising Expectations on Cuba Follow Obama. This fact will upset many people.

However, I ask: exactly how does the United States benefit from our current policy vis-à-vis Cuba?

      President Obama can’t win on this one. However, I think that engaging Cuba is more likely to be positive than negative.

      The embargo hasn’t improved much, and glasnost did a lot to undermine the USSR, and free trade with China has had similar effects.
