I have not yet commented upon it, but there has been a very interesting story brewing to the north, where a confrontation between the Conservative minority government and a coalition that is seeking to replace it. For some background see here, here and here.
Now, via the BBC: Canada PM vows to stop opposition.

This is fun to watch!
A real live constitutional crisis directly to our north in the States. I’ll actually be able to follow English speaking papers on this one.

It is not a constitutional crisis.
At least not yet. If Harper succeeds in getting the Governor General to suspend parliament till late January, despite Her Excellency having received signed letters from the other parties that they have an alternative government that commands a majority in parliament, then we would have a constitutional crisis.
Or if he tries to fire the GG…
Stay tuned.

Well, then, I guess we have one now, since the GG has indeed agreed to prorogue Parliament.
