I just received an e-mail alert from ABC News that Barack Obama’s grandmother, who had been quite ill as readers may recall, has passed away.

It is sad that she was not able to live to see the election through to its completion.

Very sad to know that she died before being able to see the man she helped to raise be elected as the first black president of this country. At the same time, I’m glad that Obama got one last opportunity to see her and say his goodbyes. I know that it’s going to be hard for him to go into this with the death of a close family member, but he will be in my prayers along with the rest of the family.
