For example, Karl Rove was on FNS this morning with this map:

Really, why does Karl Rove want Obama to win?

What’s worse, Chris Wallace actually quoted an ABC/WaPo poll as well as an NYT/CBS poll and an AP poll! (doesn’t he know that they are all biased?). Really, what is going on here?

Well, the big question for a lot of folks right now is what an Obama/Pelosi/Reid government will do, and what it will look like. I am particularly concerned about regulatory changes to investing, and the possible socialization of investment markets. If I catch a whiff of that kind of action, my wealth will be transferred to gold and other precious metals on deposit in foreign banks. Probably a lot of other investors and people who have managed to save money through these last ten years (which for us, haven’t been a “crisis” at all, but an opportunity) will do the same thing and you’ll see a huge contraction in the markets as all the money goes someplace safe before anyone in government can get their hands on it.

Beyond that, the implications of a one-party government are quite frightening, if the republican party does in fact lose enough senate seats to squash the filibuster. If the republicans go below 40 in the Senate, I’m not sure when the last time was when that happened - when there was that big of a supermajority across the board for one party.

I mean, I have a bailout plan - even in a worst case scenario, I can get out of here with my wealth in tact; but you just hope it doesn’t come to that.

I still hate polls (accurate or not), and think polling is a net negative on our society, and if all the pollsters fell off a cliff the country would be better off.

Oh brother. Now you’re sounding like the Dems who said they were moving to Canada if Bush was reelected.

I don’t see anything radical in Obama’s plans, just like I didn’t see anything radical in Pelosi’s stated goals in 2006. You don’t have to agree with them at all, but they’re within the mainstream of Democratic opinion, and all this socialism stuff is a gross caricature of it. Was it the spread the wealth around comment? See here. Was it the nationalization stuff? Though it’s not good that we have to do this at all, direct investment is the way most other countries are attempting to deal with it. Obama should thank his lucky stars that this was initiated by the Bush administration, because the crying about socialism now is nothing compared to what it would be if the crisis hit a few months later and he was the one that had to propose it.

Any chance the toast-o-meter will be making an appearance this week??

Given the groundswell (after all, you are the second person to ask), I may have to do something.
