Barack Obama

[T]onight, I can stand before you and say that I will be the Democratic nominee for president of the United States.

Indeed.

Now it will be interesting to see what Clinton does next. I think that Clinton risks her power within the party if she plays this incorrectly, and I think she is smart enough to know that.

Here’s the AP write up: Obama declares he is the Democratic nominee and CNN’s: Obama: I will be the Democratic nominee

“Tonight we mark the end of one historic journey with the beginning of another — a journey that will bring a new and better day to America,” he said.

“Tonight, I can stand before you and say that I will be the Democratic nominee for president of the United States.”
