I forgot to note yesterday that it marked the fifth anniversary of PoliBlog.
I will say that blogging has been a gratifying experience to date. As a result of blogging I have become better at keeping track of ongoing events, which has been a bonus to my teaching. Further, hashing out issues in public has caused greater introspection in terms of all things political, which has been a very good thing. I have also met a number of wonderful people over the years as a direct result of blogging.
My thanks to all who have visited, commented and linked over the years and especially to those who continue to do so.
The date further reminds me that James Joyner’s 5th blogiversary was last week. James, of course, was the one who got me interested in blogging in the first place. Of course, he has lapped me several times in terms of readership–my 1 million plus sitemeter hits versus his 25 million. Congrats to James.

Five years and a million hits is nothing to sneeze at (or more grammatically, “nothing at which to sneeze”). Heck, I’m holding a contest right now offering a free book to my 100,000th visitor. If I had a million, I’d probably have to offer a rare medieval manuscript or something.

Congratulations on your Anniversary. You should think about getting a video biography or historical documentary made about your history. My company is the leading producer of video biographies and corporate history DVDs.
