John Sides notes some interesting hypothetical in terms of “What If the Dems used the Reps rules” and vice versa over at the The Monkey Cage.
Yes, Virginia, institutions do matter.
Not surprisingly, the switch in rules creates a more different outcome in the GOP side of things, given the fragmentation on that side. The experiment on the Dems is less pronounced given the closeness of the contest to date.

This kinda challenges the conventional wisdom that “if only the Dems were using winner take all, this race wouldn’t be nearly as close for the Dems this late”, doesn’t it?
