Via the BBC: Chavez belittles opposition win

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has lashed out at his opponents and vowed to pursue plans for constitutional reform despite his referendum defeat.

[…]

“Get ready because a new offensive is coming,” said Mr Chavez, stressing that he would not give up on plans to introduce sweeping changes to the constitution.

If you had “less than a week before Chávez starts talking about a new route for his reforms” in the office pool, you win.

Also, he is not longer being gracious in defeat:

on Wednesday, speaking at a televised news conference alongside armed forces chiefs, he decried the opposition’s success as “a shit victory”.

Colombia’s El Tiempo has a similar piece today as well: Hugo Chávez lanza segunda ofensiva para reforma constitucional en Venezuela .

Venezuela’s El Universal also reports: Chávez anuncia “segunda ofensiva para aprobar reforma”:

The NYT has a version of the story as well: For Chávez, Reflection and Anger After Defeat
