Via CNN: Judge rejects Craig’s bid to withdraw guilty plea

In a 27-page order, Judge Charles Porter found Craig had entered the guilty plea “accurately, voluntarily and intelligently” and it was too late to withdraw his admission.

That strikes me as reasonable–indeed, I would have considered anything else to be rather unreasonable.

In all seriousness, I hope Craig gets some help, as he clearly comes across as a man in serious denial about the reality around him.

    1. What happened to his plan to resign? He was supposed to be gone at the end of last month!

    2. This is a behavior issue, not a question of sexuality. Craig has a behavior problem, one that happens everywhere, everyday in America. Men are pigs…

    3. Senator Craig is a “flip-flopper”. I dont understand why he thinks that he should be able to overturn a verdict just because he now says he is “innocent”. There is not another person in our country who can rightfully do that. He plead guilty, and now because it looks bad, he is going to scream injustice. Wake up America and realize that we need to spend our energies and time to real politicians and not just self-serving lying rejects like Mr. Craig. Oh Im going to resign if it wont be appealed and then it was, Im staying. Stick to your words Mr. Craig, all it seems is that you are just talking out your a$$

    4. […] They’ve updated the CNN story I linked earlier, but I thought the BBC headline was rather, well, evocative: Sex-arrest senator to finish term US Senator Larry Craig has said he will not resign, after a judge refused to withdraw his guilty plea for allegedly seeking gay sex in an airport toilet. Mr Craig said he would serve out the rest of his term, which ends in January 2024, but would not seek re-election. […]
