Via the BoGlo: Shaheen to enter NH Senate race today
Former New Hampshire Governor Jeanne Shaheen, a Democrat, will enter the US Senate race in New Hampshire today in the form of a letter to supporters.
[...]
Shaheen, who served three terms as governor from 1997-2003, is currently the director of the Institute of Politics at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government. Her entrance into the race will set up a rematch from 2002 when Sununu defeated Shaheen 51 percent to 47 percent.
Sununu was already in trouble before Shaheen announced. Now he is in really big trouble, as in a favorable political climate to Republicans he won a close race in 2002. Now in a political climate decidedly unfavorable to Republicans he has to face her again.
I don’t see how the GOP has much of a chance at all of regaining the Senate at this stage of the game.

Dr. Taylor — just as a matter of curiosity, under which set of scenarios did you see it plausible for a GOP gain of net +1 or +2 dependent on the Presidential race for control of the Senate in ‘08, and what are your current gut feelings to confident projections of the composition of the Jan 3, 09 Senate?

Man, the Democrats are throwing down the gauntlet in recruiting this year. And their is not way the GOP will net 1 or 2 seats. They may pick up Louisiana if they are lucky.
