Via the AP: Craig files to withdraw guilty plea

Sen. Larry Craig filed court papers Monday seeking to withdraw his guilty plea in an airport sex sting, arguing that he entered the plea under stress caused by media inquiries into his sexuality.

This is just more evidence of the delusional world Larry Craig appears to live in, as the notion that at this point he can call for a “do over” is ludicrous.

Isn’t it a little late to assert a “state of anxiety”–especially now that he has kinda, sorta apologized and retired?

Really this sounds like exactly what it is: a contrived story developed after the fact.

    1. The absurdity is amazing.

According to the new explanation, Craig was being hounded so much by the liberal media about his sexuality, his reaction was to PLEAD GUILTY to a charge relating to inappropriate behavior in a men’s bathroom.

So, he was so distraught by the liberal media that he decided to act out in a way that would confirm his homosexuality?!?!

This is just pathetic. If I were an Idahoian, I would demand his resignation IMMEDIATELY–if he resorts to such crazy leaps of illogic on a matter as inconsequential as the bathroom behavior, he has no business being in a position to vote on matters of important policy concern.

Does this rise to the level of an offense worth explusion from the Senate?
