Tommy Thompson that, is, that that other Thomspon.
Via JS Online: Thompson ends his quest
Thompson made the announcement one day after finishing a disappointing sixth in the Republican Iowa straw poll won by former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney.
Hardly a surprise. Thompson was clearly in the lowest tier of the GOP contenders.

It’s too bad Tommy’s political career ended like this. He was arguably the most innovative and successful governor of the 1990s. Too bad for him his ego made him a bad fit for D.C. or he would have been in the Senate a few cycles ago.

This sucks! I didn’t even get to see photo-ops of him making one of his gratuitous trips around Iowa on his Harley!
Maybe we’ll get to see the other Thompson, Freddie, pick up the mantle of gratuitous vehicular pandering by resurrecting his good ol’ boy Red Pickup truck.
Unlike a child who can play with a red pickup truck all day, apparently Freddy used to be driven from campaign events in the truck, only to hop into his Lincoln Town Car when out of sight of the proletariat.
We need at least one pandering lobbyist named Thompson in the race–bring it on Freddie!
