Via the AP: ‘Very active’ hurricane season predicted .
Since the Weather Apocalypse failed to arrive from the Gulf last year, I shall take this year’s prediction with the appropriate shaker of salt.

Even if they are right it’s still wrong for this kind of prediction to be going on. What good does it do if they are right half the time? Besides maybe landing some research money and stroking some egos.

Impending Doom
Gray is back with his guesswork. It didn’t impress me last year and doesn’t this year. Long range weather forecasting is impossible. It is well documented that weather can’t be be accurately predicted past 72 hours, but this so called expert thinks …

Better forecasting has moved that 72 hours out to 96 and the wx folks are making strides to 120 hrs. Still not quite enough forecast ability to justify jeopardizing the global economy with the predictions of global warning, but reasonable forecasts that far out will save millions each year from reduced hurricane prep in areas the hurricane will not hit.
