Via a press release we learn that: Landmark Legal Foundation Nominates Rush Limbaugh for 2024 Nobel Peace Prize

Landmark Legal Foundation today nominated nationally syndicated radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh for the 2024 Nobel Peace Prize.

Gee whiz, people: he’s a talk show host. This is beyond silly to almost parody.

Of course, as I found out a while back, being nominated isn’t all that hard to accomplish.

Indeed, in this case it probably depends on what the meaning of the word “nominate” is…

    1. I thought one had to actually do something significant to get nominated for these things. Geez!

    2. Big deal. I was among the people named as Time Magazine’s Person of the Year. So, eat that Limbaugh!

    3. The obvious intent of Mark Levin and Landmark is to deceive.

They know that there is really no such thing as a Nobel Prize “nomination” in the commonly understood sense of the word, and they know that the public is generally unaware of this. Thus, they are lying and they know they are lying.

I will simply make a mental note from this day forward that Mark Levin is a liar. This kind of behavior simplifies greatly the process of dividing the political world into the trustworthy and the untrustworthy.

    4. Al Gore participated in a movie about global warming and got nominated (and with that nomination more free publicity). It appears Limbaugh is poking fun.

You’re are right Dr. Taylor it is silly but who started such silliness? If exposing the threat of manbearpig to world is deserving of a peace prize certainly exposing the dangers of liberalism is as worthy.

    5. I looked back at the post you linked to and I looked at the nobel prize site to see the qualified nominators for the Peace Prize.

So, since you are a university professor in the social sciences, does that mean you really are qualified to nominate Shatner for the Peace Prize if you wanted to? If so, it seems like there is a real problem with the nominating system.

    6. Of course, the fact that Yasar Arafat once won the Peace Prize indicates that perhaps there is a problem with the system! :)

But I like it: Shat for the Peace Prize!
