Proving the the GOP is seeking to renew itself and move forward after its defeat last week Demonstrating ongoing cluelessness, the Senate Republicans returned Trent Lott, he of the Strom Thurmon snafu (amongst other things) to leadership.
Via CNN: Lott succeeds in leadership comebackMississippi Sen. Trent Lott, ousted from the top Senate Republican leadership job four years ago because of remarks considered racially insensitive, won election to the No. 2 post Wednesday for the minority GOP in the next Congress.
One has to wonder what, if anything, the Senate GOP caucus is thinking.
They also evaluated Mitch McConnell, as expected, to the Minority Leader position.
