It would appear that the much-vaunted Taepodong-2 missile was a dud, although the report is unclear, as two other scud-type missiles were also fired.
Via Reuters: North Korea fired Taepodong missile which failed
North Korea launched a long-range Taepodong-2 missile and two small Scud-type missiles within a two-hour period, but the long-range missile appears to have failed, a diplomatic source told Reuters on Tuesday.
I guess that’s fireworks, North Korean style.
CNN has more:
North Korea launched a long-range Taepodong-2 missile early Wednesday in an apparently unsuccessful test that failed in flight, a senior State Department official said.
This is one of those situations that underscores the foolishness of the regime: by failing in the test it simply confirmed its own lack of capabilities.
